The best advice I ever received in grad school was “who you are in that chair should be the same person out of it”. This has shaped and guided my clinical work for many years. My goal in being your supervisor to help you be the best therapist you can be and to encourage you to be the most genuine and authentic version of yourself when working with client.

I also know that grad schools set up (especially BIPOC and Queer) future clinicians to be exploited and targeted for our kind, open, empathic hearts. I teach supervisees to build boundaries, reclaim their strength, and to provide healing from a place of liberation, power, and growth.

I work best with supervisees who:

• Prefer a decolonized and relational approach outside of the Western/White colonized view of psychotherapy and mental illness

• Refuse to be exploited for their labour

• Value directness, honesty, challenge, authenticity, and compassion

• Are self aware, curious, open to learning, and accept and welcome failure as part of the process

• Who want to be effective, compassionate, and ethical healers

• Believe in showing up as real, authentic humans in the room and is not afraid to share lived experiences and earned wisdom with clients
